One of the things OMG prides itself on is the diverse nationalities of its members. Every continent except Antarctica- 32 countries in total- are represented at OMG. The fact that OMG is able to bring together the top minds from so many nations to work together on technology standards proves the overarching need for standardization.
Currently, we have 23 Japan-based organizations participating in OMG activities. Our Japanese members are from a wide range of industries (including automotive, software development, and universities) and are involved with many of our standardization efforts.

We, at OMG, know there is an absolute goldmine of untapped information and ideas in Japan-based technology organizations; in particular: small and mid-size organizations. In a first step in accelerating involvement with OMG standardization efforts, we have partnered with Nihon OMG- a Japanese organization that will help us address the country’s marketplace. Not only will Nihon OMG collaborate on current OMG standardization efforts, it will develop new programs that will accelerate efforts in Japan.
Though Nihon OMG’s work will focus on the Japanese marketplace, we know our localized efforts will open the door to other nearby marketplaces and will give OMG standards the more global view and input that they demand.
Email omg@or.jp for more information on Nihon OMG.
